Last month, we observed the differences in the rate of learning between the beginner, intermediate, & advanced students in the Wallingford campus. Here is what we observed. The beginner students are quick to pick up new topics & are eager to learn, even though they sometimes get easily distracted. The intermediate students have shown improvement over the last month but still need to develop the feeling of the mariachi style & their instrument. The Colonial students can perform their music just fine but still lack performance etiquette. Our goals overall include: Encouraging the students to practice more by providing simple routines to follow, increase the amount of new songs to perform & sing by at least 1 a month, & develop an appreciation for mariachi history for all students.
Student of The Month
At this moment, there are no students nominated for student of the month.
Q: What happens if class is canceled?
A: If the instructor cancels a class, the instructor is obligated to have a make-up day for the class at a different time & date. Ask your instructor for the details.
Q: If I do not take my child to class, can I schedule a make-up day?
A: Unfortunately, a student cannot make-up a class that he or she did not attend. It is the responsibility of the parent & student to attend all classes. If you would like to schedule a private lesson with the instructor to make-up the class, that is at the discretion of the instructor.
Q: When do I pay tuition for the Mariachi Academy?
A: Tuition is due every second week of the month & is payed to Ms. Samantha Valencia.
Q: May I pay tuition other than the second week of the month?
A: You have the entire second week to pay tuition & must do so during that week. Ms. Valencia handles tuition for the other Mariachi Academy campuses & has a rigid time frame to provide individual time to each campus. If you absolutely cannot pay during the second week, contact Ms. Valencia at 203-999-8978 to see if she will arrange to meet with you at a different date.
Q: Do I make any payments to SCOW?
A: You do NOT make any payments to SCOW. We are two different entities & are completely separated. You will always pay tuition to our finance manager of the academy.
Q: Will you have a coco class & when will it be?
A: All the students in the Mariachi Academy have the opportunity & are required to sing along with their instrumental classes. As of now, there is no separate class dedicated to singing.
